Classification of Bridge Tray
Bridge Tray (Cable Tray) is a metallic or non-metallic structure used to support, protect and lay cables, which is widely used in the fields of electric power, communication, construction and so on. According to the material, structure form, use, etc., the bridge can be divided into the following categories:
1. Classification according to material
Type Material Characteristics Applicable Scenario
Steel Bridge Cold-rolled steel plate, galvanized steel plate High strength, good fire resistance, but prone to rust (need galvanized or plastic spraying treatment) Electric power, industrial plants, data centres
Stainless steel bridge 304/316 Stainless steel Corrosion-resistant, long service life, but the cost is high Chemical industry, marine, food and pharmaceuticals, etc. Corrosive environments
Aluminium alloy bridge Aluminium alloy (5052, 6063, etc.) Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, good electrical conductivity, but weak load-bearing capacity Communications, 5G base stations, clean plants
Glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) bridge Glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) Insulation, corrosion-resistant, lightweight, but poor impact resistance Chemical industry, wastewater treatment, outdoor humid environments
Composite bridges Metallic+non-metallic composites Combination of strength and corrosion-resistant, such as Galvanized steel + PVC coating Special environments (e.g. high temperature, strong corrosion)
2. Classification according to structural forms
Types Structural features Applicable scenes
Ladder bridge Transom is in the shape of a ladder, good heat dissipation, easy to lay cables Large diameter cables, electric power engineering
Trough bridge Fully enclosed structure, dustproof, anti-disturbance, but poor heat dissipation Data centres, precision electronic equipment
Tray bridge Perforated trays at the bottom, good ventilation and heat dissipation. Stronger load-bearing capacity Industrial plants, substations
Grid-type bridge Metal grid structure, lightweight, breathable, easy to maintain Data centre, communication room (open wiring)
Large-span bridge Reinforced structure, span of up to 6~12 m, reducing the number of support points Large plants, warehouses
Combined bridge Flexible assembly (e.g., trough + ladder) to adapt to different needs Comprehensive cabling system
3. Classification by use
Type of use features Ordinary cable tray Conventional power and communication cable laying (e.g. buildings, factories)
Fire-resistant bridge Surface sprayed with fire-resistant paint or flame-retardant materials, suitable for fire-fighting, emergency power supply system
Anticorrosive bridge Galvanized, sprayed or stainless steel, used in chemical, marine and other corrosive environments
Shielded bridge With metal cover or electromagnetic shielding layer, to prevent signal interference (e.g. data centres, laboratories)
Photovoltaic bridge Specialized in solar energy power stations Cable laying, UV-resistant, weather-resistant
